As the week in music comes to a close, Hypebeast has rounded up the best projects for the latest installment of Best New Tracks.

A handful of new albums lead the charge this week, with a new LP from KAYTRANADA and impressive debut projects from Tems and Peggy Gou. Also making the list this week is Charli XCX, Shygirl, BIA x JID, Smino, Denzel Curry x TiaCorine x A$AP Ferg and Larry June.

Ski Mask The Slump God – 11th Dimension

Ski Mask The Slump God has returned with his second studio album, 11th Dimension. Arriving over five years after Stokeley, the highly anticipated 11th Dimension rounds out at 21 tracks – including previously released “Headrush” and “Shibuya” among other familiar leaks – and comes complete with contributions from Ski’s longtime collaborators Future, Juice WRLD and XXXTentacion.

KAYTRANADA – Timeless

KAYTRANADA’s third solo studio offering is here at last. Timeless arrives as the follow-up to 2019’s Bubba and sees assists from a wide range of artists across its 21 tracks. In addition to featured tracks with Tinashe, Anderson .Paak, Don Toliver, Childish Gambino, Thundercat, Mariah The Scientist, SiR and PinkPantheress, KAYTRANADA’s brother shows out on some of the album’s production as well.

Tems – Born In The Wild

Tems has officially made her debut. Led by singles “Me & U” and “Love Me JeJe,” Born In The Wild has been what listeners have been looking for from the Nigeria-based singer. Asake & J. Cole are featured on the 18-track effort. The album arrives after the songstress’ appearance on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert and a week ahead of her global headlining tour.

BIA x JID – “LIGHTS OUT”

BIA began teasing “Lights Out” about a week ago – dropping off studio snippets with JID on socials. The track appears on the soundtrack for Bad Boys: Ride Or Die. Accompanied by a futuristic visual, the unexpected duo proves they might just be a match made in movie score heaven.

Smino – “Polynesian”

Since unveiling the acclaimed Luv 4 Rent in 2022, Smino has been rather quiet in his solo endeavors, delivering the witty and highly quotable “mister misfit but aint missed a fit in months” and now, his second single of the year. “Polynesian” is a bouncy three-minute track, infused with Smino’s candor and plenty of smartly written pop culture references.

Denzel Curry x TiaCorine x A$AP Ferg – “HOT ONE”

After initially unveiling the track on On The Radar earlier this week, Denzel Curry has dropped off his collaboration with TiaCorine and A$AP Ferg. Dubbed “HOT ONE,” the high-octane offering from the straight-fire trio is reminiscent of Curry’s early career mixtapes and Soundcloud project. The track is the second single to be released from Curry’s imminent King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2, which drops next month.

Charli XCX – Brat

Catalyzed by an electric rollout, Brat is here at last. It-girl anthems “Von dutch,” “360,” “Club Classics” and “B2b” are joined by a mix of 11 other club classic cuts. An impressive solo effort, Brat’s release also coincides with Charli’s solo headlining tour.

Peggy Gou – I Hear You

Peggy Gou’s long overdue debut has arrived. The South Korean DJ’s I Hear You features “I Hear You is more than just my debut album,” Gou said in a statement earlier this year. “It embodies countless hours of dedication in my journey to create something timeless, and is a testament to the power of listening, to ourselves and to each other.”

Shygirl – Club Shy RMX

Four months after unveiling Club Shy, Shygirl has compiled a collection of remixes from the album. The UK-based DJ enlisted the likes of Logic1000, Empress Of and many others to up the ante on the album.

Larry June – “Dreams”

Larry June has unveiled his latest in an impressive lineup of stand-alone singles. Entitled “Dreams,” the braggadocious Bay Area rapper’s newest cut also arrives in tandem with another aesthetically pleasing visual.
