This week’s lineup is led by Eminem, Shaboozey and Belly, who released the single “Houdini” and the albums Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going and 90 Miles From Bethlehem. Also joining this selection are offerings from Kygo, Lancey Foux with Teezo Touchdown and Cash Cobain, Lucki, Dua Saleh with serpentwithfeet, Tills, Swim Deep and Previous Industries.
Eminem – “Houdini”
Eminem honors the life and times of Slim Shady with his latest single “Houdini,” which is set appear on his upcoming album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). The accompanying music video sees the rapper recreate his iconic “Without Me” visual from 2002 — including the scene of him driving in a lambo with Dr. Dre and his “Rapboy” superhero outfit. The likes of Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Pete Davidson and more also make cameos.

Shaboozey – Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going
Shaboozey takes listeners on an intimate journey on his latest studio album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going. “This album means the world to me, it’s a reflection of my journey and the stories that shaped me,” he shares in a statement. “Growing up in Virginia, music was our way of speaking truths and finding joy, and I tried to capture that in every track. It’s a blend of all my experiences, the highs, the lows, and everything in between. I hope when y’all listen, you feel that same connection and authenticity. It’s not just an album, it’s a piece of my soul, and I’m grateful to share it with you.”

Belly pays homage to his Palestinian roots on 90 Miles From Bethlehem. The 9-track effort features Palestinian artists Saint Levant on “Baroudeh,” Ibrahim Maalouf on “Carry Me” and Elyanna and MC Abdul on “Maktub,” as well as traditional instrumentalists and production from DaHeala. 96 Miles From Bethlehem is billed as a “deeply personal project” for the artist as he not only named the album in honor of his birthplace Jenin, which is 96 miles from Bethlehem, but also highlights his home’s ongoing struggles.

Dua Saleh x serpentwithfeet – ”unruly”
Dua Saleh and serpentwithfeet join forces for the brand new single “unruly,” which is described by the Sudanese-American artist as a track that “addresses an instinctive presence, omnipotent aura, and carnal desires that one may possess as they lean into their strength.” They add, “This takes place across a number of different areas in life that this power can be translate to. It poses as something related to subversion: subversion of norms, reclamation of power, & resistance against sensual suppression through a lean into the erotic (see Audrey Lorde’s essay on ‘Uses of the Erotic’). This comes along with an examination of ‘effection,’ offering a reassessment of generative influence on the world. It allows sensuality through mutual respects and desires. It reexamines the social imaginary and spins it on itself.”

Swim Deep – “Don’t Make Me A Stranger”
Swim Deep drops their newest single “Don’t Make Me A Stranger,” which is set to join their upcoming album There’s A Big Star Outside on June 7. “One dusty afternoon after a long summer of obsessing over Simon and Garfunkel and late 90s rom coms, I was fiddling about with a guitar refrain and singing ‘don’t make me a stranger’ over it, my wife walked past and said ‘I like this one,’” the band shares in a statement. “So I saw it through and it ended up being a meandering waltz, in ode to those who have lost, or are losing a loved one to dementia. Which me and my wife have both sadly been through in recent years. It’s a gut wrenching illness that feels so brutally unfair, with the only silver lining being that music seems to be the last thing to leave your memory. It helps me to write about it and talk to others that have lost people to it too.”

Previous Industries – “Zayre”
Previous Industries, the supergroup comprised of Open Mike Eagle, STILL RIFT and Video Dave, debuted their newest single “Zayre” — the third from their upcoming album Service Merchandise, out on June 28. “Zayre is the name of a defunct department store. Many of our songs are named after retail outlets that failed,” the group says. “When you have time, watch the commercials for Zayre and know that it was a real place where people bought action figures and pants.” They add, “The producer Child Actor is a genius. He showed us his formula once and we got really scared… There’s secret lyrics to the hook that [Open Mike Eagle will] never tell you. Dave might tell you for the right price but he never will.”
