The 15-track record features guest appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, Omar Apollo, serpentwithfeet and Mustafa, as well as production from the likes of Raphael Saadiq and Dylan Wiggins. “I think I found a sweet spot with this album. I’m not good at faking things. So if I am making something and I’m not impressed by it, even if it’s really good or people… Everyone listens to it and they’re like, ‘I love it, this is the one. This is the one.’ If I’m not impressed by it, then it’s like, it’s painful to me,” the artist told Apple Music 1.

Meyhem Lauren x DJ Muggs x Madlib – Champagne For Breakfast

Queens, New York’s very own Meyhem Lauren drops off his latest studio effort Champagne For Breakfast, produced entirely by DJ Muggs and Madlib. “Long story short, I was working on an album with Muggs and an album with Madlib. We were all in the lab together going through songs and decided to do a Meyhem x Muggs x Madlib collaborative album before dropping the other two projects,” Lauren shared in a statement. Muggs added, “We were in the studio one morning listening to music, drinking Champagne, and realized we had a lot of songs we really loved. Albert Hammond Jr. x GoldLink – “100-99”

Albert Hammond Jr. and GoldLink team up for an unexpected collaboration in the form of “100-99,” which is set to appear on The Strokes guitarist’s forthcoming solo album Melodies On Hiatus, dropping June 23. “I grew up listening to 90s hip-hop, and I would always gravitate towards the melodic hooks in the songs I heard on the radio, specifically anything Dr. Dre was producing or rapping on,” he said about the new track. “Years later, I noticed myself pulling from the style of those melodic lines in my guitar work, even though it wasn’t obvious to anyone else as I was so directly associated with being in a rock band. ‘100-99’ was something I’ve wanted to do for some time—work with a rapper over a beat and guitar part I wrote—and it’s really exciting that I was able to do it with GoldLink.”
