As the week in music comes to a close, HYPEBEAST has rounded up the best projects for the latest installment of Best New Tracks.
This week is led by Brockhampton, who have delivered the first single from their final album The Family, as well as Sigrid with a cut from the deluxe edition of her new LP, “Everybody Says They’re Fine.” JID added the song “2007” to The Forever Story, while Jason Derulo teamed up with Australian DJ duo SHOUSE. Additional selections in the mix come from Yves Tumor, North Ave Jax, Lil Tjay, Dej Loaf, Selena Gomez and more.
Brockhampton – “Big P*ssy”

Long-running music collective Brockhampton is gearing up to drop their seventh and final album, The Family, on November 17. Most of the project has been kept under wraps but they’ve shared the first song from the LP, “Big P*ssy,” which is slated fourth on its tracklist.

Sigrid – “Everybody Says They’re Fine”

Norwegian singer Sigrid’s sophomore album addressed the topic of mental health from different angles. On the deluxe edition of the LP, Sigrid continues the conversation on “Blue” and her latest single, “Everybody Says They’re Fine.” “Worry about the future / Then cover it with humor,” she reflects on the latter song. “No one talks about the ending / And I guess I wanna blend in.”

North Ave Jax x Lil Tjay – “Eastside Remix”

Lil Tjay joins emerging Vermont rapper North Ave Jax for a remix of “Eastside.” After opening with simple guitar strumming, the single twists to a SoundCloud-like D.I.Y. sound, interpolating singing with a laid-back rap flow.

JID – “2007”

JID has tacked on another single to his latest album, The Forever Story. “2007” features spoken words from J. Cole and JID’s manager Ib Hamad, as well as JID’s father. The track was left off of the album when it was released in August due to issues with clearing samples but was recorded to serve as its outro.

Selena Gomez – “My Mind & Me”

As the title track to her upcoming Apple TV documentary, Selena Gomez reflects on her relationship with her mental and physical health on “My Mind & Me.” Over the years, the singer has received a kidney transplant and battled lupus, all while being under the lens of the public eye. “My mind and me, we don’t get along sometimes,” she sings. “And it gets hard to breathe, but I wouldn’t change my life.”

Jason Derulo x SHOUSE – “Never Let You Go”

Melbourne-based electronic duo SHOUSE — Jack Madin and Ed Service — have teamed up with Jason Derulo for the upbeat dance track “Never Let You Go.” SHOUSE shared how the partnership happened by chance, writing on social media that they “never thought that the legend Jason Derulo hearing our music in Ibiza would lead to a collab like this… but love what he’s done!”
Dej Loaf – “Harpo! (Who Dis Woman)”

Dej Loaf took a two-year hiatus from releasing new music following the release of her debut album, Sell Sole II. Thankfully, the rising rapper made her return last month with the DJ Fresh-assisted “Pop Out.” She’s now delivered yet another single called “Harpo! (Who Dis Woman),” leaving fans wondering if Dej Loaf may have another LP in the works.

Erick the Architect x AKTHESAVIOR – “No Ice”

Ahead of his Future Proof Live Tour, Erick the Architect has dropped off his first new single of the year. Teaming up with AKTHESAVIOR from the Brooklyn hip-hop duo The Underachievers, “No Ice” is a psychedelic rap track, hearing the two artists drop bars at a casual pace over a funky, booming beat.

MIKE – “What Do I Do”

Off of his new album Beware of the Monkey, MIKE’s crooning “What Do I Do” arrives with an official visual. Directed by Xin Wang, the video appears to be shot in Ocean City, Maryland, following MIKE as he raps in his car and walks barefoot on the beach.

Yves Tumor – “God Is a Circle”

Yves Tumor is known for their bold experimentation, transcending all genres. They certainly don’t disappoint on “God Is a Circle.” Produced by Noah Goldstein and with contributing vocals from Ecco2K and Thoom, the song opens with the sound of screaming, after which the artist churns out sultry verses over the background noise of someone’s heavy breathing.
