As the week in music comes to a close, Hypebeast has rounded up the best projects for the latest installment of Best New Tracks.
This week’s lineup is led by long-form releases from Bon Iver, Jean Dawson, Jaden, Yeat, Juice WRLD AUDREY NUNA and singles from Tyler, the Creator, 070 Shake, Drake x Chino Pacas x Fuerza Regida and FKA twigs.
Bon Iver – SABLE,
At last, Bon Iver has made its communally anticipated formal return. The Justin Vernon-led folk group has unveiled its first studio project since dropping i,i back in 2019, presenting a new EP entitled SABLE,. Complete with a triptych of tracks (as well as an introductory eleven-second cut), SABLE, signals a return to form for the group.

Tyler, the Creator – “St. Chroma”
Arguably the high point of this week’s new releases comes a surprise “single” of sorts from Tyler, the Creator. Shortly followed up with the official CHROMAKOPIA release, the musician unveiled the first glimpse into his eighth studio album with “St. Chroma.” Arriving solely on YouTube with what appears to be its official visual, “St Chroma” seems to be the album’s lead single and hasn’t made its way over to DSPs quite yet.
Yeat – LYFESTYLE
Yeat’s LYFESTYLE has been one of the most highly anticipated albums from the Gen-Z hip-hop community. On the heels of a rapid, no-time-wasted rollout, the enigmatic rapper has delivered on the album. Without dropping any pre-release singles, the hidden-features 21-track effort is the exact Yeat LP fans were yearning for.

Juice WRLD – The Pre-Party (Extended)
This week, Juice WRLD’s estate unveiled two more heavily anticipated leaks from the rapper – ”Both Ways” and “Cavalier” – which serve as the finishing touches on The Pre-Party (Extended) EP. The two new tracks are paired with September’s similarly long-awaited singles, “World Tour (Aquafina)” and “Lightyears” featuring Young Thug, to compile a four-track homage to the late rapper.

070 Shake – “Winter Baby / New Jersey Blues”
070 Shake has officially made her return. Marking her first solo studio release since 2022, Shake has shared the two-part lead single for her imminent Petrichor LP, which is set to drop everywhere next month. Carried by a retro melody, “Winter Baby / New Jersey Blues” also signals a sonic shift for the musician, leaving fans eager for what Petrichor might have in store.

Jaden – 2024: A Case Study of the Long Term Effects of Young Love
After a few quiet years in the music space, Jaden has returned with his first long-form delivery since CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3 in 2021 (followed up by its accompanying Day Tripper’s Edition deluxe version in 2021.) 2024: A Case Study of the Long Term Effects of Young Love arrives as a four-track package, complete with previously released “Roses” and “D.U.M.B” as well as two new ones.

AUDREY NUNA – TRENCH
After an impressive year, AUDREY NUNA has unleashed TRENCH. Surfacing as her experimental sophomore studio album, the two-sided TRENCH takes a hyper focus on the juxtaposition of life’s daunting dualities – especially the ones that come with growing up. The 16-track project totals 16 tracks, with just one feature coming from Teezo Touchdown one of the pre-release singles “Starving.”

Jean Dawson – Glimmer of God
Jean Dawson has lifted the curtain on his ethereal new effort. Landing a little over two years after CHAOS NOW*, Glimmer of God makes its grand debut after a solid year from the multifaceted musician, who dropped off a string of solid singles throughout the year. Like NUNA, Dawson elects to handle most of the project on his own, with sporadic contributions coming from Lil Yachty on “Die For Me” and BONES on “P4IN.”

Drake x Chino Pacas x Fuerza Regida – “Modo Capone”
The long-awaited link-up between Drake, Chino Pacas and Fuerza Regida has dropped on DSPs. After bits and pieces of the cut were teased the entire month, “Modo Capone” has materialized in its final form as part of Chino Pacas’ Que Sigan Llegando Las Pacas album.

FKA twigs – “Perfect Stranger”
Her second glimpse of Eusexua, “Perfect Stranger” proves FKA twigs’ creativity knows no bounds. The successor to the title track “Eusexua,” “Perfect Stranger” Eusexua the album is slated to drop in full in January of 2025.
