Bentley has teased performance details on its upcoming Flying Spur, sharing that it will feature the same Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain first introduced through its latest Continental GT Speed.
This cutting-edge technology combines a 4L twin-turbo V8 engine with a powerful electric motor, generating an impressive 771 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. This marks a significant leap from the current Flying Spur Speed, with a nearly 150 hp increase.
The Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain not only enhances performance but also offers notable efficiency. CO2 emissions are expected to be below 40 g/km and the new Flying Spur boasts an electric range of over 45 miles, contributing to a total range exceeding 500 miles. This makes the new model the most dynamic and efficient four-door car in Bentley’s extensive history.
Bentley’s engineers have meticulously developed the new system to deliver smooth power and torque across the full rev range. The electric motor provides robust acceleration at low speeds and mid-range, while the V8 engine enhances performance at higher speeds. Additionally, the exhaust note has been carefully tuned to emphasize the cross-plane quality, without artificial enhancement.
At the time of writing, Bentley has not yet shared imagery of the vehicle besides the single photo in the gallery above — however, more details are expected to be shared soon.
