Bentley Shares Sneak Peek at New 770 HP Continental GT

Bentley has shared first looks of its fourth-generation Continental GT, slated for a full unveiling this June. This launch marks a significant evolution for the brand, introducing the first Bentley to harness the innovative “Ultra Performance Hybrid” powertrain.

The new Continental GT promises an impressive combination of power and sustainability, boasting 770 hp and 773 lb-ft of torque from its V8 engine paired with an electric motor. It also features an electric-only range of 50 miles and maintains an environmentally friendly stance with a WLTP CO2 emission figure under 50 g/km.

Notably, this latest iteration marks the most powerful road car in Bentley’s 105-year history and also its most dynamically capable, all while continuing to offer the luxury and handcrafted elegance synonymous with the automaker. The vehicle includes advanced chassis technologies such as active all-wheel drive with torque vectoring, four-wheel steering, an electronic Limited Slip Differential and 48V electric active anti-roll control.

The design and technology suite of the new Continental GT is completely updated, representing the modern embodiment of the Bentley legacy. The model draws inspiration from the 1952 R Type Continental, known for its speed and elegance and maintains the characteristic design lines that define Bentley’s aesthetic.

Since its debut in 2002, the Continental GT has played a pivotal role in Bentley’s resurgence, boosting annual sales from about 1,000 cars to over 10,000 within four years.

With nearly 100,000 units crafted in Crewe England over the last two decades, the Continental GT stands as a cornerstone of Bentley’s success, symbolizing a blend of luxury and performance that continues to attract a global following. At the time of writing, details on pricing and availability for the fourth-gen GT have not yet been shared but are expected to be revealed in June.
