Benny The Butcher Reveals Why He Didn’t Appear on ‘Certified Lover Boy’ and ‘DONDA’

Despite the initial excitement of separate partnerships between Benny The Butcher, Drake and Kanye West, many were disappointed when the Griselda titan didn’t appear on both Certified Lover Boy and DONDA.

Benny spoke to Wayno to explain why none of his features made the cut, confirming that he and Drizzy worked on something. “Drake is Drake. He’s the biggest artist in the world so ain’t no tellin’ where that song gon’ land,” he said. “We got the song, I played it for all the homies. It’s a vibe and he gotta place that where he sees fit to it. Meanwhile, for DONDA — an album which featured his labelmates Westside Gunn and Conway The Machine — Benny revealed that he did do some work with CyHi the Prynce, but felt like West didn’t particularly want him there. “I don’t think that was for me,” he said, adding, “It’s cool, you know what I’m saying?”

Elsewhere in music, Drake’s Certified Lover Boy logged its second week at No. 1.
