London-based jazz musician Ben Marc—the alias of Neil Charles—has announced his debut solo LP Glass Effect with a new song called “Mustard.” The album is due out this spring via Innovative Leisure. Check out “Mustard” below.
Marc says Glass Effect was influenced by Four Tet, Bonobo, Machinedrum, DJ Shadow, Madlib, and his time in the nightclubs of Ibiza. He released the album’s first two singles “Give Me Time” and “Way We Are” last year.
Marc released the Breathe Suite EP in December. Marc has previously performed with Sun Ra Arkestra and the Ethiopian Jazz pioneer Mulatu Astatke. He also worked on Jonny Greenwood’s score for the Paul Thomas Anderson film The Master.
