“Sorry guys but this is the happiest day of my life,” one declared on Twitter using the hashtag #omgnicki, while another wrote, “Y’all the barbs have been waiting for this moment since super bass dropped.
Several others rejoiced in the coincidental timing of Minaj and fellow pop star Katy Perry‘s concurrent pregnancies, already clamoring for a next-generation update of their 2017 collaboration “Swish Swish.”
“THE WAY KATY PERRY’S BABY AND NICKI MINAJ’S BABY WILL REDO A SWISH SWISH 2.0 IN THE FUTURE OMG PRINCESSES OF POP AND RAP COMING,” one fan tweeted in all-caps excitement.
Lil Nas X even got in on the fun, referencing Minaj’s legacy by writing, “Nicki Minaj’s child finding out she already has sons,” alongside an amusing meme of a boy furiously throwing a tantrum and punching the passenger seat of a car.
While a rep for the rapper has yet to confirm the news, Minaj is seen smiling in her surprise social media posts, cradling her baby bump while wearing an intricate bikini made of colorful floral appliqués and tiny chains. The baby would be the first child for the star, who is married to Kenneth Petty.
