Bang & Olufsen’s excellent H9i headphones are cheaper than ever at Amazon

Bang & Olufsen’s excellent H9i headphones are cheaper than ever at Amazon

Today’s best deals include all sorts of tech at different price ranges, including noise-canceling headphones, e-readers, gaming laptops, and even a 4K TV with Mini-LED backlighting. Starting with headphones, we’re seeing a big price drop on the Bang & Olufsen H9i wireless over-ear headphones with active noise cancellation. Normally retailing on Amazon at $500 (or around $300 if you buy from a third-party seller), they’re currently sitting at $200 — the single biggest price cut yet.

This model debuted in early 2018 and features USB-C charging, a long battery life, and, according to a post from former Verge editor Vlad Savov, they’re very comfortable. Another perk you don’t usually see with headphones like these is a removable battery. If you aren’t near a power outlet to recharge it, you can simply swap it out for a fresh battery to keep the music going.

Bose’s Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 in the white color are also discounted well below their normal $399 price. You can snag them at Amazon for $299. This deal has been ongoing for a few weeks, and yet, it’s the lowest price that we’ve seen. For now, the other colors are stubbornly hanging on to their $350 sale price points.

According to our review from Chris Welch, these have supreme noise cancellation and good sound. One unexpected area of expertise is that they make voice calls sound amazing. The mic array is good at blocking out everything that isn’t your voice, so if you chat on the phone a lot, these should be on your shortlist.

Amazon’s waterproof Kindle Paperwhite is $90 at Target, which is the most affordable price available right now. This model usually runs for $130, and it’s an especially great deal whenever the price falls below $100. Best Buy also meets that mark; it’s selling the Kindle Paperwhite for $95, and it’s offering curbside pickup as an alternative to having it delivered to your home. Both retailers beat Amazon’s price.

There’s a good deal happening right now at Best Buy on a capable midrange gaming laptop from Asus that costs just $830 (normally $1,100). It’s a 15.6-inch machine (model FX505DV-EH54) with AMD’s quad-core Ryzen 5-3550H processor, 16GB of 2400MHz DDR4 RAM (expandable up to 32GB), a 512GB PCIe-based SSD, and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060.

I usually expect to see gaming laptops at this price range featuring slightly less capable dedicated graphics card, like the GTX 1660, so getting the 2060 with this model is a nice perk. Also, the amount of fast storage you’re getting here for the price is impressive.

TCL’s 65-inch 8 Series 4K HDR QLED TV is 50 percent off at Best Buy today. It usually sells for $2,000, and it’s just $1,000 today. That’s a big price cut for a TV with Mini-LED backlighting. These smaller LEDs allow for more precise local dimming zones (in terms of contrast and color) than what you’ll find lighting your average 4K TV. You stand to see the biggest benefits of this tech if you watch a lot of HDR content, be it TV shows, movies, or video games. In terms of HDR types supported, this model covers Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG.

In addition to having a good-looking display, this model has tiny bezels, four HDMI ports, and its built-in Roku software gives you easy access to video streaming services like Apple TV Plus, Disney Plus, and many others.

Lastly, Apple’s seventh-generation iPad is still $80 off at Best Buy and Amazon. Paying $250 for the latest model is a very good deal, and you’ll get major iPadOS updates for the next few years. Amazon’s color offering at this price only includes the space gray option, though Best Buy has each color option available.
