Bad Bunny’s ‘DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOTos’ Is a Celebration of Puerto Rico

Bad Bunny's ‘DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOTos’ Is a Celebration of Puerto Rico

Bad Bunny‘s sixth studio album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOTos (I Should Have Taken More Photos) is finally here.

Clocking in at just a little over one hour, the extensive 17-track project features guest appearances from RaiNao on “Perfumito Nuevo,” Chuwi on “Weltita,” Omar Courtz and Dei V on “Veldá” and los Pleneros de la Cresta on “Café con Ron.” The album also arrives with a short film written and directed by Arí Maniel Cruz Suárez and Bad Bunny himself, which stars the legendary Jacobo Morales as a man who recalls a bygone Puerto Rico through a series of nostalgic photographs.

DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOTos‘ accompanying short film visualizes what the album is truly about: a celebration of Puerto Rico and the sound that represents Bad Bunny. He told TIME Magazine that he wants to encourage the younger generation of Puerto Rican musicians to pay homage to the music of their ancestors, “To be able to collaborate in that way, and give space to new people instead of looking for those who are established in the industry…was something that for me was part of the purpose.”

“At times you are perhaps a little nostalgic, a little sentimental… But at the same time, you are enjoying other things: playing dominoes with grandparents or with the family,” he said of his heritage. “Since we are also in Puerto Rico, we are at home, we are with the group: That is a reason to be happy, to be content.”
