Bad Bunny Lands Fifth No. 1 on Top Latin Albums With ‘El Último Tour del Mundo’

Bad Bunny Lands Fifth No. 1 on Top Latin Albums With ‘El Último Tour del Mundo’

El Último Tour del Mundo, which dropped Thursday, Nov. 26 at 11 p.m. ET via Rimas, opened at No. 20 (Dec. 5-dated survey) after just one hour of activity (the sales and streaming tracking week for the Top Latin Albums chart runs Friday through Thursday each week).

As previously reportedEl Último Tour del Mundo earned Bad Bunny his first No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart and made history as the first all-Spanish album to claim a spot atop the tally since its inception in August 1963.

On Top Latin Albums, with 116,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Dec. 3, according to Nielsen Music/ MRC Data, El Último Tour del Mundo nabs the second biggest week in terms of overall units for a Latin release since Billboard began tracking titles by units in December 2014. It stands just behind Benito’s own YHLQMDLG which started with 179,000 units (March 14-dated list).

The Top Latin Albums chart ranks the most popular Latin albums of the week in the U.S. based on multimetric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

Second Largest Debut Streaming Week Ever for a Latin Album: Out of El Último Tour del Mundo’s second-week sum, 103,000 stems from streaming data. Bad Bunny’s fifth studio effort concurrently earns the second largest debut week of 2020 in terms of streaming activity for a Latin album: 103,000 SEA units equate to 146 million on-demand streams for the set’s songs in its second week. His own YHLQMDLG continues at the lead with the largest Latin streaming debut frame, with 201.4 million on-demand streams in its first week.

Hot Latin Songs Domination: As El Último Tour del Mundo arrives, 14 tracks off the set enter Hot Latin Songs, which blends airplay, streaming data and digital sales. Including “Dakiti” with Jhay Cortez, in its fifth week at No. 1 since its debut (Nov. 14-dated survey), Bad Bunny places 15 simultaneous tracks of the new album in the current chart.

Four out of 10: As El Último Tour del Mundo hits No. 1 on Top Latin Albums, Bad Bunny now collects a total of five No. 1s, four of which have secured a spot atop in 2020. Let’s take a look at this year’s leaderboard:
