After returning with a modernized version of its “Sound Burger,” Audio-Technica continues to celebrate its 60th anniversary with a limited-edition AT-LP2022 turntable found in a unique clear acrylic finish. The transparent 30mm high-density body works to reduce resonance while revealing the inner workings of the belt-drive motor.
Arriving in a fully manual setup, the turntable features a special Shibata stylus that can pick up ultra-high frequencies, a 9″ carbon-fiber tonearm, and a clear acrylic platter. Additional features include heigh-adjustable feet and a three-position rotary for speed control between 33rpm and 45 rpm. Included in the set are a detachable dust cover, a 45 RPM adapter, and RCA cables.
“It is an honor to provide a quality audio experience to millions of people throughout the world. What begins as a simple vibration – a subtle movement – results in an emotional connection, whether that be when listening deeply to an album or sharing your voice with the world,” writes Kazuo Matsushita, President of Audio-Technica Corporation.
The Audio-Technica AT-LP2022 vinyl record player will be available for online pre-order beginning November 7 and will officially go on sale December 16. The pieces are limited to 3,000 individually-numbered units worldwide for $1,200 USD.
