ATEEZ named Record Store Day’s first-ever K-pop Artist of the Year

ATEEZ named Record Store Day's first-ever K-pop Artist of the Year

Eight-member K-pop group ATEEZ are bringing the energy to Record Store Day 2024. The South Korean band, made up of members Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho, have been named the first-ever K-pop Artist of the Year for the annual event dedicated to celebrating vinyl.

Record Store Day takes place on April 20th, and ATEEZ are marking the occasion with an exclusive vinyl release of their most recent project, THE WORLD EP.FIN: WILL, with this one dubbed the X Version. This is the first time a K-pop artist will be formally participating in Record Store Day — ATEEZ have a history of enthusiastically promoting outside of South Korea and embracing global growth, and they’ll be upping the ante even more that same month with their first performance at Coachella.

The special vinyl will be distributed by hello82 and can be purchased at participating record stores on April 20th. In addition to the existing track list from the project, which first dropped in 2023, the vinyl set will include two unreleased songs unavailable on streaming, and, of course, one photo card.

ATEEZ were included in our 2023 K-Pop Yearbook as one of the year’s standout acts. When speaking with Consequence about another huge year in the books, Jongho said, “We’ll do our best to be singers that will make it a joyful 2024 for you, so we hope you can be together with us next year too.” Yeosang added, “ATEEZ will always work hard to run alongside ATINY no matter what, so I hope we can continue to stay together even in 2024.”

While additional dates have yet to be announced and there isn’t yet any word on US shows, the group is currently in the midst of a 2024 tour titled “Towards the Light: Will to Power.” In the meantime, fans can revisit our video interview with ATEEZ from their last visit to New York.
