Legendary video game company Atari is now celebrating its 50th anniversary with a bundle of more than 90 retro games ported for modern consoles. With five decades of titles in its library, Atari’s new collection spans six different consoles, including the Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, ST, Jaguar and Lynx.
While the actual list of games has yet to be revealed, the company says that there’ll also be six brand new games inspired by some of its most iconic retro titles, including a sequel to 1981’s Haunted House. The project is handled by Digital Eclipse, the studio behind other popular compilations including The Disney Afternoon Collection and the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.
“When it comes to emulation or bringing classics back or doing really any sort of remastering or reimagining, I don’t know if there’s anybody who does it better than Digital Eclipse, so they were always our first choice,” said Atari CEO Wade Rosen.
For those interested, Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration will arrive later this year for $40 USD on the PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC.
Elsewhere in gaming, the latest Nintendo Direct has offered a closer look at Sonic Frontiers and its new Cyber Space zone.
