The moment we saw cage (or fisherman) sandals on Instagram back in 2020, we knew that they were destined for style success, and, lo and behold, they have certainly lived up to their potential this year. Though in mainstream terms, they are still considered a niche trend, they have quickly made the rounds of fashion’s tastemakers, who have been drawn in by the old-school charm of the style. Slowly but surely, brands have been realising the power of cage sandals and creating their own iterations, and this month, it was ASOS’s turn to bring something to the table.
