Bieber’s 2015 album, Purpose, shines bright in his catalog, with its three No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits, his first three of six leaders to date, accounting for his three most-streamed songs (on-demand in the U.S.) and three of his four top songs in cumulative radio audience (in lead roles). “What Do You Mean?” debuted atop the Hot 100 dated Sept. 19, 2015; “Sorry” began a three-week reign on Jan. 23, 2016; and “Love Yourself” supplanted the latter for a two-week command starting on Feb. 13, 2016.
Bieber has since ruled the Hot 100 as featured on DJ Khaled’s “I’m the One” (one week, 2017) and Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s global juggernaut “Despacito” (a then-record-tying 16 weeks, beginning the following frame, 2017) and with “Stuck With U,” with Ariana Grande (one week, 2020).
Bieber boasts seven No. 1s on the Billboard 200 albums chart, including his last six entries dating to 2011. Will Justice become his eighth leader? The LP, announced Friday (Feb. 26), is set to include his 2021 hits “Holy,” as noted above; “Lonely,” with Benny Blanco; and latest single “Anyone.”
“In a time when there’s so much wrong with this broken planet, we all crave healing, and justice, for humanity,” Bieber said in a statement. “In creating this album, my goal is to make music that will provide comfort; to make songs that people can relate to, and connect to, so they feel less alone.”
Justice is due March 19. If it drops as expected that day, its first week of data tracking will run through March 25, setting up (Beliebers, schedule a reminder) March 28 as the day that Billboard would likely announce highlights of the Billboard 200 chart (dated April 3) on which the album would debut.
