Online art marketplace, Artsy, has partnered with Moncler on an exclusive art auction that is inspired by the luxury fashion label’s 2 Moncler 1952 collection. The project was specially curated by Moncler’s creative director, Sergio Zambon, who selected Andrea Anastasio, Erwin Wurm and Prem Sahib to recontextualize everyday objects with Moncler’s unique visual identity.
The result is an array of eye-catching artworks, many of which reference the brand’s iconic puffer jacket. Wurm’s eclectic aesthetic is cranked to the max, as the Austrian artist humorously plays with the puffer jacket’s silhouette in Almost A Perfect Day III, 2021.
To coincicde with the auction, the two recently held an event, titled “Instant Message: A One-Day Exhibition,” which was held on September 25 at Milan’s Central Station. All proceeds from the artwork will benefit the non-profit, FREE THE WORK, in an effort to promote diversity and inclusionary practices through the hiring of Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC), along with transgender staff across film, television and adverstisement.
The 2 Moncler 1952 M by Sergio Zambon: Benefit Auction 2021 will accept bids until October 11.
Elsewhere, the New Museum has introduced a new art prize highlighting the work of women artists.
