Apple Rumored to Release New iMac as Early as Second Half of 2023

Apple might just be ready to release a new 24-inch iMac as early as the second half of this year.

According to Bloomberg‘s Apple insider, Mark Gurman, he reports that the tech giant from San Francisco is currently developing two new iMac models. The computers are said to have already reached “a late stage” and have recently started their manufacturing tests. However, Gurman does state that he does not expect mass production of the 2023 iMac to begin for at least three more months.

In his Power On newsletter, Gurman also reports that a significant number of improvements will be made to this iMac in comparison to the previous models. For one, this particular model is said to feature Apple’s next-generation M3 chip system. This means that certain “components [will be] relocated and redesigned.” With the new chipset, it increases performance and power efficiency a significant amount, taking advantage of the upcoming TSMC 3nm process. Apple is also planning on using a “different” manufacturing process to attach the iMac to its stand. Colorways will remain the same as the 2021 models.

Aside from the iMac, Gurman also states that there will be a release of a new 14-inch MacBook Air and a refreshed 13-inch model and its first Apple Silicon Mac Pro. The Macs are expected to arrive in late spring or early summer but it is uncertain if the MacBook Airs will feature the M3 chips too.
