Apple Music Launches Boiler Room Sessions in Spatial Audio

Apple Music has launched a new series of DJ mixes mixed with their Spatial Audio technology, including 15 Boiler Room Sessions and an exclusive mix from Jeff Mills called “Outer to Inner Atmosphere: The Escape Velocity Mix.” The hour-long mix is the first entry in Apple Music’s relaunched One Mix series, featuring tracks from his Axis Records / the Escape Velocity catalog.

Of his new mix, Mills said in a statement:

The purpose of this recording was conceptualized and designed to stimulate the listeners’ three dimensional senses and sensations using the subject and idea of breaking Earth’s gravitational pull and leaving the planet. The embarkment to a place outside and unlike our own. With this immersive sound experience also came certain aspects that needed to be addressed. Ones that uses our psychological responses, like anticipation and mystery, the risks and danger of such a journey and most importantly, the translation of the feeling that ‘a step forward’ has been taken.

The 15 Boiler Room mixes include sets from the Blessed Madonna, Boyz Noize, India Jordan, Ash Lauryn, HAAi, and more, recorded at nightclubs, festivals, and raves around the world. Apple Music plans to release additional sessions mixed in Spatial Audio throughout the year, including “Live From” Boiler Room. Check out the full list here.
