Apple Announces 15-Inch MacBook Air With M2 Chip

Each year, Apple brings together developers, engineers, enthusiasts and more to showcase its latest advancements in software and hardware at Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Heading into this year’s presentation, two key projects have been rumored as the centerpieces. First, fans are hoping for the reveal of the long-awaited AR/VR headset. In addition to this, rumors of a 15-inch MacBook Air popped up following last year’s WWDC and have left many in anticipation. Now, the tech giant has officially revealed the new laptop.

The largest consumer-oriented laptop from the brand, the 15-inch MacBook Air arrives as the thinnest of its kind — weighing in at 3.3 lbs and measuring 11.5mm thick. Its 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display comes with up to 18 hours of battery life, a billion colors and appears in four different colors — silver, midnight, starlight and space gray. Looking within its build, an M2 Chip powers the system, allowing it to process up to twelve times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air. Additional specifications include a 1080p camera, a six-speaker sound system and fanless build.

Starting at $1,299 USD, this next chapter of MacBook Airs is available for pre-order today via Apple with shipments going out next week.

In other exciting tech news, Amazon is reportedly planning to offer its Prime subscribers free cell phone service.
