Earlier this week, Angela Yee took to Twitter to share a tweet that had people thinking that the popular hip-hop radio show The Breakfast Club was coming to an end. The tweet read, “The breakfast club as you know it is officially over,” accompanied by a heart hands emoji.
During a recent episode of the Power 105.1 radio show responsible for many viral hip-hop moments in recent years, Angela Yee revealed that she will be stepping away to start her own show. “This is something that I’ve been wanting to do for years now, since way before the pandemic…I am going to be leaving The Breakfast Club. You guys will obviously continue on and it will be a different interaction of The Breakfast Club. I will have my own show up here at iHeart as well.” The new show is titled Way Up With Angela Yee.
Co-hosts DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God will continue The Breakfast Club, but it is unclear if they will be looking to bring on someone to replace Yee.
