Horse Racing Betting Tips for Friday November 5th
NEWCASTLE ‘DOUBLE DRAW’
High draws have enjoyed a big advantage on the straight course at recent Newcastle meetings and the SpreadEx ‘DOUBLE DRAW’ spread market warrants a small buy at 107. Stalls 12, 11, 8, 6 and 4 were responsible for the big-field (10+ runner) straight-track races at the last meeting (November 2nd) and the meeting on October 25th saw three winners from double-figure draws as well as one from stall 8. BEAUZON (stall 11 of 13) looks solid in the opener while DEFINITIVE FORCE (stall 9) could be another Alice Haynes runners to go well on his handicap debut. VINTAGE POLLY (stall 12), ZAAJRAH (stall 9) is a short-priced favourite in the 3.30 and COVER NAME (stall 8 of 8) is unlikely to be far away in the 4.00. We have another short-priced favourite in hat-trick seeker MILLIONAIRE WALTZ (stall 10 of 11) drawn high in the 5.00 and GOLDEN APOLLO (stall 10 of 14) is one of the bets of the day in the 5.30. Unusually, there are no races on the round course (1m2f+) and those are the contests that often produce low-drawn winners.
Recommendation: Buy ‘DOUBLE DRAW’ at Newcastle
DUNDALK 3.45
COLLECTIVE POWER heads the SpreadEx fixed odds betting at 15-8 for this 5f maiden but has had plenty of chances (he’s zero from 11), isn’t best drawn towards the inside rail and is dropping back to the minimum trip of 5f for the first time since finishing 14th of 17 at the Curragh in August. He last raced just two days ago and Edward Lynam hasn’t got the best record when running one within a week. Since the start of 2015, he’s had 42 runners who raced between one and six days ago, whose previous outing came within the past 90 days, and only one of them won. Ten started as favourite and all were beaten. Selling him in the 50-25-10 race market with SpreadEx is one way to take him on.
Recommendation: Oppose COLLECTIVE POWER in Dundalk 3.45
WARWICK RACECARD No.1s
Early pace is usually the key ingredient to success at Warwick and, on studying the pace maps for today’s card, it looks as though plenty of the RACECARD No.1s are going to race on the front end if they repeat their recent tactics. NEW REALITY looks the pace angle in first-time cheekpieces in the opener (12.50), UNANSWERED PRAYERS is unlikely to be far away in the 1.25 and REPUBLICAN will probably make the running in the 3.05. The down-in-class MISTER MURCHAN should also be close to the early pace. SpreadEx have set the market at 42-45 (25pts for a win, 10pts for a second place and 5pts for a third) and I’m a buyer at 45.
Recommendation: Buy RACECARD No.1s at Warwick
