Andrew’s picks have been in good form so far this week and he has three recommended bets/trades at Ascot on Friday:
Horse Racing Betting Tips for Friday November 19th
ASCOT JOCKEYS
TOM CANNON hasn’t got the greatest record at Ascot, scoring on just four of his 96 rides (4.2%) for a loss of £55.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. When riding for Chris Gordon he’s just one from 38. He has three rides for the yard today, including HIGHWAY ONE O ONE (3.15), who is on a losing run of 18. BADDESLEY has a more obvious chance in the 3.50, though he looks quirky and has won just a Fontwell bumper from six starts. His other ride, HIGHWAY ONE O TWO in the 2.40, would prefer softer going and is another who could struggle. Cannon’s performance index is set at 19.5.21.5 with SpreadEx and sell is the suggestion.
Recommendation: Sell TOM CANNON performance in Ascot jockeys
TOM O’BRIEN has a couple of good rides for in-form Philip Hobbs at Ascot today, notably SMARTY WILD in the 2.05. He was only fifth at Newbury on his comeback but will be happier on today’s right-handed track. His record this way round when returned to the track within 28 days of his previous outing reads 11114431 (5-8) and it will be disappointing of he isn’t thereabouts. TIDAL FLOW could pick up place money in the 3.15. His performance index is set at 13-5.15. SpreadEx fixed odds punters might prefer to back Smarty Wild at 7-2 or at 5-2 in the ‘betting with Guy (favourite)’ market.
Recommendation: Buy TOM O’BRIEN performance in Ascot Jockeys
ASCOT 3.15
Dan Skelton has a good record with horses he takes over from other yards, especially at the second time of asking, scoring with 70 of the 304 qualifiers (23% strike-rate) for a very small profit of £5.86 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who ran obviously good races on their debut for Skelton, finishing first or second, returned a loss second time out but the ones who finished between third and fifth went on to land 27 of their 98 starts for a profit of £49.85. GETAROUND was only third when the 10-11 favourite at Chepstow on his stable debut last month but that experience would have been needed (it was also his first start following wind surgery) and he’s likely to take a big step forward today. He’s 6-4 in the SpreadEx fixed odds betting or can be bought at 26 on the spreads.
Recommendation: Back GETAROUND in Ascot 3.15
