Andrew struck with three winners on Saturday (15-2, 5-2 and 6-5) and has a further three selections for racing at Carlisle and Huntingdon on Sunday October 31st:

CARLISLE 1.25

CAPTAIN MOIRETTE (system – James Moffatt stable switchers)

James Moffatt has a knack of winning at the first time of asking with stable switchers – horses he takes over from other yards – scoring with seven of the 40 qualifiers since the beginning of 2015 for a profit of £39.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. CAPTAIN MOIRETTE, a £10,000 purchase from the Sue Smith yard, has a good strike-rate over hurdles (three from eight) and is 18lb below his last winning mark. He’s worth a speculative interest at a nice price.

HUNTINGDON 2.15

MISS MCGUGEN (system – Stuart Edmunds, second run for the yard)

Stuart Edmunds does well with horses he takes over from other yards, scoring at the first time of asking with nine of the 43 qualifiers (21%) for a profit of £15.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. They do even better second-time out for their new trainer, winning ten of their 37 starts (27%) for a profit of £46.95. MISS MCGUGEN was well supported ahead of her stable debut here 19 days ago but weakened into a modest third of four after travelling strongly. Perhaps that run was needed and she’s worth chancing at a big price (around 25-1 at the time of writing).

XCITATIONS (system – Pam Sly break returners)

The Pam Sly break returners system helped find yesterday’s 15-2 Wetherby winner Haafapeice and she has now scored with 30 of her 254 horses who were returning from a break of 150 days or longer for a profit of £146.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. Course winner XCITATIONS is proven when fresh, scoring after a mid-season break of 98 days last term, and could be worth chancing on his chase debut.
