Andrew’s followers enjoyed a place return with VIKING RUBY (18-1 third) on Thursday and he has three bets at Ascot, Chepstow and Dundalk on Friday November 18th:
CHEPSTOW 1.45
CHANCEUX (system – Alastair Ralph hurdle and bumper runners)
In-form Alastair Ralph has a solid recent record in bumpers/hurdles, scoring with 56 of his 435 runners since the start of 2017, for a profit of £67.13 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who ran well without winning on their latest outing, finishing second, third or fourth, had a 25 from 135 record for a profit of £91.03. CHANCEUX caught the eye under a considerate ride when runner-up at Hereford last time and will take the beating here.
ASCOT 2.05
SMARTY WILD (system – course direction)
SMARTY WILD usually struggles when racing on left-handed tracks, recording form figures of 60456 (0-5), so can be forgiven his reappearance fifth at Newbury earlier this month. He has a far sexier profile on right-handed tracks, with form figures of 6311114463313 (5-13). He can bounce back with conditions in his favour.
DUNDALK 5.30
TRADING POINT (system – sire Siyouni on Polytrack, 4yo+)
Older progeny (4yo+) of the sire Siyouni do well on Polytrack, winning 23 of their 121 starts for a profit of £50.95 to the usual £1 stake. French Rain qualifies in the 5.00 race but she has a tough draw in stall 15 and I’m more interested in TRADING POINT. He ran well over one mile here on his penultimate start, finishing third at 22-1, and was poorly drawn when beating only one home over the same course and distance last time. The likely strong pace could compensate for the drop to 7f and he’ll be staying on strongly at the business end.
