AMD’s New Zen 4 Architecture Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs Will Arrive In September

After accidentally leaking its specs back in July, AMD has now finally announced the release date for its upcoming Ryzen 7000 series of CPUs. Slated to ship out this September, the tech company’s latest series of processors utilize its revolutionary Zen 4 architecture that combines a maximum boost speed of more than 5GHz with AI acceleration and doubled L2 cache to 1MB.

Since it relies on the AM5 platform, you’ll also need DDR5 RAM and PCIe 5.0-compatible components, but AMD says the series can perform 29 percent better than the current Ryzen 5000 series on average for single-thread tasks. With tasks that take up all of the CPU’s 16 processing cores, speeds increased by as much as 49 percent.

As for pricing, the base model will be the six-core Ryzen 5 7600X, which will start at $300 USD. Next up is the eight-core Ryzen 7 7700X at $400 USD, followed by the 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X with a price tag of $550 USD. Sitting at the top of the range will be the Ryzen 9 7950X, which boasts 16 cores but will set you back $700 USD. All four models will begin shipping on September 27.

In other tech news, LG UltraGear has introduced the world’s first curved 45-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 240Hz.
