The President of Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick says Gernot Rohr remains the best man for the Super Eagles and deserved to keep his job.
Rohr signed a new two and half year deal with the Nigeria Football Federation last week to put an end to an end to all the speculations linking him away from the job.
While speaking with journalists on social media chat on Monday, Pinnick said the Federation is happy with the Franco-German coach regardless of reports going round in the media.
“We are of the view and conviction that Mr. Gernot Rohr deserves to continue the job he is doing with the Super Eagles. I believe he has earned it. He had a right of first refusal so it was not a problem. We included a few other things in his contract but at the end of the day, we were able to come to an agreement.”
On the Super Eagles, The former CAF 1st vice president said he’s happy with the current squad and he’s optimistic the team will bring joy to Nigerians.
“Presently, I am proud of the squad that we have. Without gainsaying, we have good players competing for every department on the field in the Super Eagles squad. It is exciting and we believe the team is on to a good thing. It is important that we work with him to nurture together a team that we can all be proud of.” he said.
