Alpine has officially opened orders for its A290, a fully electric hatchback based on the Renault Five. The A290 marks Alpine’s entry into the electric sports car market, offering two power options — 177 hp and 217 hp—paired with a 52-kWh battery that provides a range of up to 380 km WLTP.
The A290 lineup includes four versions: A290 GT, A290 GT Premium, A290 GT Performance and A290 GTS, catering to a variety of preferences, from sporty enthusiasts to those seeking comfort and style. The A290 GT serves as the entry-level model, offering essential features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Google Automotive Services, adaptive cruise control and a reversing camera. Meanwhile, the A290 GT Premium adds luxury touches such as Nappa leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel and a high-end Devialet audio system.
Representing the more performance-facing option, the A290 GT Performance delivers 217 hp, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds, with a top speed of 105 mph. This model also includes Alpine Telemetrics for performance monitoring. Topping the range is the A290 GTS, combining the power of the 217 hp engine with luxury features like 19-inch black Snowflake wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires and a refined Nappa leather interior. Alpine has also introduced a limited “Première Édition” series of 1,955 units, in tribute to the brand’s founding year.
All four model variants are available to order now via Alpine’s official site, with prices ranging from €38,700 – €46,200 EUR or approximately $42,300 – $50,500 USD.
