After ASUS announced what was thought to be a record-breaking ROG Swift monitor last year, Alienware now introduces its own 500 Hz rival that’s set to beat ASUS to the market. Named the “AQ2524H,” Alienware’s new introduction is a 24.5-inch IPS Full HD monitor that refreshes 500 times a second for buttery smooth gameplay. Currently, the fastest monitors available for purchase are capped at around 360Hz.
Alienware’s 500Hz number comes with a number of caveats. The maximum refresh rate can only be achieved on the DisplayPort 1.4 connection. With a native speed of 480 Hz, the 500 Hz speeds are reached with overclocking enabled. Other stats include 0.5ms response time on Extreme mode, Nvidia G-Sync certification, and VESA DisplayHDR 400. Rounding out the offering is an ambient light sensor that can adjust monitor brightness, customizable AlienFX lighting, a built-in retractable headset hanger for convenience, and a height-adjustable mount that supports tilts, swivels, and pivots. Ports include two HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 1.4, four USB 3.2, a headphone jack, and an audio line-out.
Look for the Alienware AQ2524H to release sometime in Q1 of this year and stay tuned for exact pricing and details.
