It’s been more than a decade since Tyler Perry tried his hand at action/drama films with his bomb of a movie, Alex Cross, and while he did little to generate any interest in the popular novel series turned-film franchise, the James Patterson book series found new life on Amazon Prime and will be debuting later this year.
According to Deadline, the upcoming series starring Aldis Hodge as the title character will be debuting November 14, and the studio has so much faith in their project it has already been renewed for a second season before the first has even had a chance to be streamed a single time. That’s saying something.
As for the upcoming CROSS, it’s pretty much what you’d expect from a season of True Detective.
Per Deadline:
The series follows follows Alex Cross (Hodge), a detective and forensic psychologist, uniquely capable of digging into the psyches of killers and their victims, to identify—and ultimately capture—the murderers.
In addition to starring, Hodge also serves as a producer. Cross also stars Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford, and Ryan Eggold.
We’re not gonna lie, we really liked Aldis Hodge as Hawkman in the ill-fated Black Adam film that bombed in 2022 and led Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson right back to the Fast & Furious franchise in 2023. Just sayin’.
