Alanis Morissette to play Kamala Harris fundraiser

Alanis Morissette to play Kamala Harris fundraiser

You oughta know Alanis Morrissette is doing her part to elect Kamala Harris for president.

Last month, Donald Trump posted an especially gross AI-generated parody of Morissette’s song “Ironic,” which suggested that Harris traded sexual favors to help advance political career. Now, Morissette herself is responding by throwing her support behind the vice president.

The singer-songwriter, who is a dual Canadian-American citizen, is set to headline a fundraiser on behalf of Harris in Los Angeles on Sunday, according to Deadline. Singer/actress Halle Bailey is also slated to perform at the event, which is being put on by Democratic fundraiser Jeffrey Katzenberg.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Harris Victory Fund, which benefits Harris’ presidential campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and state parties.

Morissette and Bailey are the just the latest musicians to throw their support behind Harris, following the likes of Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Hayley Williams, Megan Thee Stallion, and Bon Iver.
