Al Pacino Wants Timothée Chalamet to Play Young Vincent Hanna in Possible ‘Heat’ Film Sequel

Al Pacino Wants Timothée Chalamet to Play Young Vincent Hanna in Possible ‘Heat’ Film Sequel

With Michael Mann writing a noel sequel to 1995’s classic Heat, actor Al Pacino has already decided which actor he would like to play a young version of Lt. Vincent Hanna.

During the film’s 25th anniversary celebration — which was delayed by two years due to COVID-19 — at the Tribeca Festival, Pacino revealed that he could see Timothée Chalamet as Hanna. “I mean, he’s a wonderful actor. Great looks,” he said of the 26-year-old actor, and his answer was met with applause.

The anniversary celebration of Heat featured a 4K screening of the film, a Q&A panel with Pacino and Robert De Niro, who played Neil McCauley and producer Art Linson.

Elsewhere during the conversation, Pacino opened up about working with De Niro. “I’ve often said to people who have asked me about working with him, ‘You can do anything with Bob.’ No matter what you do, he’s going to hear it, react to it and connect to it,” he explained. “That’s a real luxury to be with someone like that. Because no matter what you do, he picks up on it. He’s always there, at the ready.”

He added, “I guess it’s somewhat like tennis. On your films, you gotta keep hitting the ball over the net, and it gets to the other person. It’s all a smooth rhythm that you get if you listen.”

Mann’s Heat followup novel will be released on August 9, but there is still no word on whether it will be turned into a film.

In case you missed it, HBO is developing a Game of Thrones spinoff series focusing on Jon Snow.
