Afrojack and Nicky Romero have been announced as two of the many personalities who will be taking part in HyperX‘s new celebrity gaming series “HyperX Showdown.”
HyperX, the renowned gaming gear brand and subsidiary of computer technology corporation Kingston Technology Company, announced the new series yesterday, June 10th, 2020, which will unite personalities from entertainment, music, sports, and gaming for eight weeks or tournaments and gaming events.
According to a press release issued to announce the initiative, the first gaming event is scheduled to air on Tuesday, June 16th, at 3PM ET (12PM PST) with EDM superstars Afrojack and Nicky Romero, who will be paired with two pro players from the London Royal Ravens playing Call of Duty: Warzone.
According to the press release, prominent streamers are scheduled to participate along with a laundry list of major names in entertainment while playing games like Call of Duty: Warzone, NBA 2K, Fortnite, and Madden, among others. Also primed for appearances in the series are hip-hop artists Offset, Future, and Young Thug, and athletes Gordon Hayward (Boston Celtics), JuJu Smith-Schuster (Pittsburgh Steelers), Philip Forsberg (Nashville Predators), DeMarcus Cousins (NBA All-Star), Mikal Bridges (Phoenix Suns), Onyeka Okongwu (2020 NBA Draft Prospect), Cole Anthony (2020 NBA Draft Prospect), and Joc Pederson (Los Angeles Dodgers).
