Afro Nation, the world’s largest Afrobeats Festival, will be holding its first event in the United States this year. Taking across May 27 and 28, the Miami-set festival will follow-up wildly successful installments in Portugal, Ghana and Puerto Rico.
Building on the popularity of the previous fests, which held its first event only a few years ago in 2019, the Miami installment will continue to highlight some of the leading artists Afrobeats, dancehall, hip-hop, amapiano, and other Black-led genres.
The first day of Afro Nation Miami will be headlined by Nigerian singer Burna Boy, who released his sixth studio album Love, Damini in July. Day two will be headed by another Nigerian artist, Wizkid. Cementing his status as an Afrobeats tastemaker, and also the most-streamed Nigerian artist of all time on Spotify, Wizkid just put out his last album More Love, Less Ego in November.
Among the other artists in the lineup are Beenie Man, Rema, Asake, Franglish, Black Sherif, Nelson Freitas and more.
Preview the full lineup for Afro Nation Miami 2023. General tickets will go on sale beginning Friday, January 13, though a special access pre-sale registration has already opened up online.
In other music news, Post Malone, Lil Nas X, Lizzo and more will headline Bottlerock Napa Valley 2023.
