Adele is going on a very lengthy, indefinite hiatus from music as soon as she wraps up her final Las Vegas residency dates this October.
The artist confirmed the sad news during a recent performance, telling fans that while her three-year run of live shows have “been amazing,” she would like to get some rest. “I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now,” Adele, who recently confirmed her engagement to Rich Paul, said. “I’m not the most comfortable performer, I know that, but I am very f*cking good at it. And I have really enjoyed performing for nearly three years now, which is the longest I’ve ever done and probably the longest I’ll ever do,” she also shared.
“I have 10 shows left after this, back in my residency [in Las Vegas] — but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time,” Adele continued. “I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break, and I will fantasize about these shows and any shows that I’ve done over the last three years.”
As Consequence reports, Adele also told German TV broadcaster ZDF that she doesn’t “have any plans for new music, at all,” adding, “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
