Adele’s ITV special, An Audience With Adele, gave us a long-awaited glimpse into the process of creating her new album, 30, as well as a chance to see some of Britain’s biggest celebrities all in one room together, cheering her on. It also gave us another incredible fashion moment from the singer, who wore a custom black Louis Vuitton gown for the occasion.
Styled by Jamie Mizrahi, the black off-the-shoulder dress, which was designed by Louis Vuitton’s creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, channelled old Hollywood with ruching at the bust, short sleeves, and a drop waist. What really made the dress special, however, was the hundreds of silver crystals scattered across the dress like stars in a night sky — perhaps another celestial reference similar to the custom Saturn earrings she wore for her TV special with Oprah Winfrey a week earlier.
Mizrahi accessorized the dress with jewellery from Lorraine Schwartz, whilst Adele’s makeup artist, Anthony Nguyen (who made a mid-concert appearance to touch up the singer’s makeup after an emotional reunion with her childhood teacher), went with “bold and smoky eyes” for the evening versus her signature winged liner. Echoing the vintage vibes of the gown, hairstylist Sami Knight went for old Hollywood waves that helped show off Adele’s beautiful gems.
