In April 2017, 21 broke Billboard’s record for longest charting album by a woman on the Billboard 200. It surpassed Carole King‘s Tapestry with its 319th week at the time. The acclaimed album has since spent a total of 497 weeks on the chart.
Adele’s most recent studio album was 2015’s 25. Though fans are eager for a new LP, the singer hasn’t given any hints as to when her fourth studio album might arrive. While hosting Saturday Night Live on Oct. 24 last year, she revealed that her next album isn’t finished yet. She also told fans on Instagram in August that she isn’t certain about a timeline for it, saying, “I honestly have no idea.”
