Acer Updates Its Predator Triton and Helios Gaming Laptops for CES 2022

Joining the likes of Razer, Alienware and a whole host of other tech companies, Taiwanese firm Acer has now updated its own gaming laptop line as well, giving both the Predator Helios 300 and Triton 500 SE welcome upgrades to reach the most up-to-date gaming experience.

On the Helios front, the revamped machine will now utilize Intel‘s 12th-generation Core i7 chip as its CPU, with graphics options including either the NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti or RTX 3080 pushing out visuals out through a 1440p display with a 165Hz refresh rate. Rounding out its premium performance is 32GB of DDR5 RAM, an improved cooling system, 2.5Gbps Ethernet connection, WiFi 6e, and a whole host of ports including Thunderbolt and HDMI 2.1. The model’s 16-inch version will start at $1,650 USD and the 17-inch variant starts at $1,750, both arriving this May.

As for the Triton, the gaming laptop will carry up to a 12th-gen Core i9 processor and an RTX 3080 Ti GPU, with maximum RAM capacity also at 32GB of DDR5. Sizing is restricted to only a 16-inch model, but the display comes in at 1600p and can reach refresh rates of 240Hz. It’ll also come with an innovative cooling system that combines liquid metal with heat pipes and “3D” fans, making sure the machine stays cool even during the most intense gaming sessions. The device is set to arrive in March, starting at $2,300 USD.

Elsewhere in CES 2022, Alienware’s Concept Nyx can stream games to all your home devices.
