The first week of the 2023-24 NFL season wrapped up last night with a showdown between the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills. Heading into the much-anticipated game, all eyes were on star quarterback Aaron Rodgers as the Jets’ new leader. He was traded to the team back in April after a historic 18 years with the Green Bay Packers. However, the four-time MVP’s appearance was brief.
During Rodgers’ first offensive drive with the Jets, he took an unfortunate twist that left his left calf injured. While the Jets managed to pull out a miraculous overtime victory over the Bills that night, today serves as devastating news for Jets fans as Rodgers is confirmed to have torn his left Achilles tendon, leaving him out for the remainder of the season.
The Jets face the red-hot Dallas Cowboys this weekend with Zach Wilson in as quarterback and Rodgers hopefully undergoing a swift and healthy recovery ahead of next season.
