On April 20, A$AP Rocky was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport in connection with a previously unreported shooting that occurred on November 6, 2021. A$AP Relli, a former member of A$AP Mob, has now come forward claiming to be the victim of that shooting. His lawyers have revealed to Rolling Stone that Relli (whose real name is Terell Ephron) will file a civil lawsuit against Rocky.
According to attorneys Jamal Tooson and Brian Hurwitz, Rocky lured Relli to a central Hollywood location under the understanding that they would “discuss a disagreement between the two of them.” The attorneys claim that Rocky arrived with a semi-automatic handgun. “After arriving at the location, a conversation ensued whereby without provocation, warning, or any justification, A$AP Rocky produced the handgun and intentionally fired multiple shots at Mr. Ephron.”
Relli’s attorneys claim he has received “multiple death threats and irreparable harm to his career in the entertainment industry as a result of this incident.” Pitchfork has reached out to A$AP Rocky’s representatives.
According to police reports, the shooting victim—who had not yet been identified as Relli—reportedly told police that Rocky, who was walking with two other people, approached him on the street while holding a handgun. He alleged that Rocky shot at him three to four times, and he believed that one of the bullets grazed his left hand.
Rocky and Relli had been friends in high school. Relli was not a rapper himself, but was credited by Rocky for originally bringing him into A$AP Yams’ group. Relli is a talent manager and producer.
