A$AP Rocky Explains Why 'Dont Be Dumb' Album Release Is Delayed

A$AP Rocky‘s forthcoming and anticipated fourth album was initially slated to drop at the end of the month on August 30. Now, the newest project has been revealed to be pushed back.

The rapper talks about the delay in his recent Billboard cover story and later took to X to explain to fans why they now have to wait until the fall to hear the new album. He wrote in response to an NFR Podcast post, “LEAKS & SAMPLE CLEARANCES ARE DISRUPTING THE ALBUM. ITS BEEN 6 YEARS & I WANNA MAKE THE BEST ALBUM EVER. IM SORRY FOR THE WAIT.” The Harlem rapper spoke to Billboard about the big names that have collaborated on his upcoming album, including long-time friend Tyler, the Creator, Morissey, Pharrell, Mike Dean, Hitkidd, Madlib, Metro Boomin and The Alchemist. He also discussed sharing his album with director Tim Burton, “I sat and I played the album for Tim Burton, and he was f—ing with it heavy.” He noted that the Beetlejuice director seemed to thoroughly enjoy it, “rocking his head” and adding, “He’s like, ‘Wow! I didn’t know you made that kind of music!’”

Expected to be Rocky’s first album in six years, Don’t Be Dumb will now release in the fall but no official date has been confirmed just yet.
