A$AP Rocky Charged With Assault for Allegedly Shooting at A$AP Relli

A$AP Rocky has been charged for allegedly firing a gun at his former friend and A$AP Mob associate A$AP Relli on November 6, 2021. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced the charges today—two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. Rocky was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport in April over the incident, but wasn’t charged until today.

“Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood,” Gascón said in a statement. “My office conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case and determined that the addition of a special firearm allegation was warranted.”

Relli recently came forward as the alleged victim of the shooting and announced his intentions to sue Rocky. Relli’s lawyers claimed that Rocky produced a firearm and fired multiple shots “without provocation, warning, or any justification.” Gascón’s statement notes that Rocky allegedly fired twice. The case is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Pitchfork has reached out to A$AP Rocky’s representatives for comment.
