Alongside the upcoming releases of Problemista, Priscilla and Talk to Me, A24 has announced that the production company is set to deliver yet another new film before the end of this year. The Iron Claw, which will premiere this December, will follow the triumphant yet tragic lives of the Von Erich wrestlers.
Hitting theaters on December 22, The Iron Claw takes viewers back to the heyday of the Von Erich brothers’ wrestling days in the 1980s. The film was financed and produced by A24 and written and directed by Sean Durkin of Martha Marcy May Marlene.
The cast is stacked, with Zac Efron, The Bear‘s Jeremy Allen White, Triangle of Sadness star Harris Dickinson and Mindhunter‘s Holt McCallany as brothers Kevin Von Erich, Kerry Von Erich, David Von Erich and Fritz Von Erich, respectively. Maura Tierney plays the mother and matriarch of the Von Erich family, and Lily James the wife of Kevin Von Erich. Check out the new first-look photo of the brothers above.
According to reports from Variety, The Iron Claw is still in post-production and will therefore skip the upcoming fall festivals.
Elsewhere in entertainment news, Travis Scott stars in the upcoming Harmony Korine-Directed Film, Aggro Dr1ft, set to premiere at this year’s Venice Film Festival.
