A24 has finally dropped the official trailer for its upcoming Priscilla. Sofia Coppola, turns the lens towards one of the most famous first women of the music industry. The film is based on Presley’s memoir, Elvis and Me, Priscilla, turning the focus on the queen to the King of Rock.
The couple were together for a decade and married for six. The trailer shows the tumultuous love story between the two, played bye Jacob Elordi and Cailee Spaeny. The film follows the story of their courtship from when she was a 14-year-old teen who first encountered the 24-year-old singer in Germany. From the classrooms to Graceland, Priscilla goes on a journey that sees the young girl evolve into a fashion icon and a young mother as she navigates the perils of fame and her husband’s turbulent mood swings.
Priscilla previously premiered at the Venice Film Festival. During the SAG-AFTRA strike, the cast was granted an interim agreement to send the stars to the festival to promote the film. The film was truly and independent feature for Coppola. She recently revealed that she almost auctioned off a pickleball game with Elordi to get some extra cash. The filmmaker claimed that since the move was denied of using Elvis’s music, they had to be more creative.
Priscilla is out on November 3.
