A V12-Equipped 1971 Ferrari 365 GTC/4 Is up for Auction

A V12-Equipped 1971 Ferrari 365 GTC/4 Is up for Auction

Ferrari enthusiasts will be excited to learn that a 1971 Ferrari 365 GTC/4 is now up for auction over on Collecting Cars. With 49,295 miles under its belt, the rare grand tourer was originally ordered through the U.K.’s Maranello Concessionaires and is the only unit delivered to Britain to be finished in Rosso Sir Ivor, a vibrant red shade named by Pininfarina after a champion thoroughbred racehorse at the time.

The car’s first owner was Charles Ronald Driver, father of Hollywood actress Minnie Driver, and though it was sent to England, the car was specified in left-hand drive as it was intended to be driven in Switzerland. Over the years, it’d make its way through various owners including prolific Ferrari collector and racer Pierre Mellinger as well as Brentford FC’s former chairman Martin Lange.

Sitting under the bonnet is the 4.4-liter Colombo V12, capable of producing 335 horsepower through a five-speed manual transmission. The engine number also matches the rear axle, and while the gearbox isn’t original, it’s the correct type for the car. Wheels now come in the form of 15-inch Campagnolo magnesium alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P4000 tires, with a full-size spare hidden under the boot floor. The interior has been re-trimmed in tan leather upholstery, paired with a dashboard and center console covered in the correct “mousehair” material while the steering wheel comes trimmed in black leather. You’ll also find a retrofitted electric ignition, polished metal gear knob, and retro-styled stereo head unit.

For those interested in owning this rare piece of automotive history, you can head over to Collecting Cars to learn more.

In other related news, a 1981 Ferrari 512 BBI “Koenig Specials” is also up for sale.
