Shortly after the last episodes NieR: Automata Ver1.1a were broadcasted in Japan, an official teaser was revealed, confirming that production has begun for the second part of the anime.
Produced by Square Enix and Aniplex, with A-1 Pictures, NieR: Automata Ver1.1a is the anime adaption of Yoko Taro’s acclaimed video game, Nier: Automata. Developed by PlatinumGames and Square Enix, the action RPG is known for its multiple timelines, groundbreaking gameplay, stunning visuals, as well as its beautiful and cinematic soundtrack.
So far, every episode of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a is dedicated to a different ending from the original game — with the final episode being titled “flowers for m[A]chines” to coincide with “Ending A.” As there are a total of 24 endings in Nier: Automata, it is speculated that the anime will eventually cover all the remaining endings in its second cour, which will likely comprise another 12 episodes.
At the time of writing, further details regarding the anime’s premiere date are yet to be announced. For more information and updates, keep an eye out on the official NieR: Automata anime website.
