Ford has unveiled the latest addition to its Bronco lineup, the Bronco Raptor “Black Appearance Package,” under the captivating darkened skies of a total solar eclipse in the United States. This new package, joining the vibrant Code Orange option, offers Bronco enthusiasts a unique blend of high-performance off-road capabilities with a dark, menacing style that stands out even under the most extreme conditions.
Launched during a special event at the Bronco Off-Roadeo in Texas, the reveal took place in front of an exclusive audience of 150 Bronco owners. The timing, set against the dramatic backdrop of the April 8 solar eclipse, emphasized the dark theme of the Black Appearance Package, which features an array of Shadow and Matte black exterior details.
The package is designed to enhance the Bronco Raptor’s already powerful presence with a Shadow Black painted roof, mirror caps, roll bar and fender flares, creating a striking contrast with the vehicle’s bold color options. Additionally, the package includes a Matte Black steel bumper, skid plate and tow hooks, incorporating feedback from current Bronco Raptor owners.
Speaking on the new edition, Bronco Brand Manger Jason Hyde said “Customers choose Bronco Raptor for two reasons: its high-performance off-road capability and its distinctive appearance,” adding “The Black Appearance gives them a look that stands out on any trail and under any sky, even a total solar eclipse.”
While Ford didn’t share much on the performance elements of the vehicle at the time of writing, we can assume that it features the same capabilities as its Code Orange predecessor. This means it likely boasts a Raptor HOSS 4.0 race-ready suspension system, a fully boxed, high-strength steel frame and standard 37-inch all-terrain tires. The Ford Bronco Raptor “Black Appearance Package” is expected to become available for order in the U.S. in late April.
