Square Enix will be releasing its new game Dragon Quest Treasures for the Nintendo Switch this winter. The title builds on the long-running Dragon Quest franchise, which began publishing in 1986 and has received installments for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS, as well as the Switch.
The latest game in the series will launch on December 9. The news was revealed on Tuesday at the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase.
A trailer for Dragon Quest Treasures was published by Nintendo after the showcase. The teaser previews different aspects of gameplay, such as the colorful and expansive virtual world and the different skills characters will have. A few clips show how characters will be challenged to support their monster friends in battle to defend them from foes.
“Two siblings’ treasure-hunting dreams become reality as they are whisked away to the magical and mysterious realm of Draconia,” the video’s caption reads. “Explore this vast and untamed world with your gang of helpful monsters by using their unique treasure-hunting abilities.”
Square Enix’s Dragon Quest Treasures is out for the Nintendo Switch on December 9.
In other gaming news, Hideo Kojima canceled one of his games because it was too similar to The Boys.
